“I took part in the POLSIS Undergraduate Conference as it seemed the ideal opportunity to stretch myself academically and to really get to grips with a project outside of guided course-work.
The process of producing an original piece of work was genuinely empowering and fulfilling and the conference day itself was brilliant from start to finish. The other presentations were fantastic and I learnt a great deal listening to other students’ ideas from across the department. After my presentation, I was able to receive face-to-face feedback on my work from world-class researchers, which was a tremendously beneficial and maturing experience.
I whole-heartedly urge anybody who’s interested to put forth an abstract for this year’s conference. It is one of the most rewarding things you can take part in whilst at university.”

“Presenting at the last year’s POLSIS Student Conference was a truly thrilling experience! It was a great opportunity to present my ideas in a professional format, to test my public-speaking skills, to feel like a real academic.
I was also awarded the Best Presentation Prize – a great honour, a valuable addition to my CV, and frankly quite a signinficant contribution to my summer holiday budget. With no hesitation, I recommend the Conference to each and every one of you!”
